“UNDERSTANDING WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO CLIENTS AND HELPING MAKE THAT HAPPEN.”
Lianne Lodge is a Financial Planner based in Edinburgh, specialising in helping individuals, particularly those navigating life-changing events, gain clarity and control over their financial future. With a background in law and nearly 20 years as a solicitor, Lianne brings deep technical expertise, strong communication skills and a profoundly human approach to every client relationship.
She now focuses on personal financial planning, with a specialist interest in supporting individuals with Personal Injury Trusts. These are clients who may have experienced a major changing life event, and Lianne aims to guide them through complex decisions with compassion, care and clarity. At the heart of her role is not just managing money, but making life better, step by step.
A NEW CHAPTER ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIPS
“Financial planning is a second career for me. I was a solicitor for almost two decades, and although I loved supporting individuals and charities, the nature of legal work often meant I only saw clients when things had gone wrong, or once every few years. I realised I wanted to play a more regular, active role in people’s lives.
The part of my legal career that I loved was building relationships and being there to support people through change. Financial planning allows me to do exactly that, just in a different way. Now, instead of transactional interactions, I have the opportunity to grow long-term relationships and be part of clients’ lives as they evolve.”
EVERY PERSON, EVERY PLAN, EVERY STEP MATTERS
“With my legal background, I’ve seen what can go wrong when people don’t plan, or when plans are made without seeing the full picture. I use that experience positively now. I work with clients to create long-term financial solutions that take everything into account: their money, yes, but also their family, values and personal goals.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that big decisions can feel overwhelming. I’ve seen people paralysed trying to fix everything at once. But every journey starts with a single step. I help break things down into manageable, meaningful actions that bring clarity and momentum. Each step makes the next easier.”
BEING GENUINE BUILDS TRUST
“Trust is everything. It’s essential that clients feel they can be open with me, and that means being open with them too. One non-negotiable for me is being genuine. I work with people who want to work together. We’re partners in this. I want them to know I care not just about their finances, but about their lives and goals.
What I love most about my work is the updates. As a solicitor, I often saw people at difficult times. Now, I get to share in the good moments too, seeing a client share baby photos, buy a new car.”
