“TURNING FINANCIAL COMPLEXITY INTO CLARITY.”
TAILORED STRATEGY FOR LIFE’S BIGGEST DECISIONS
Abbie Morrison is a Financial Planning Associate based in Glasgow, supporting our Financial Planners in delivering exceptional, tailored advice to clients. Her role combines thorough technical analysis, research, complex calculations and report writing, all with the goal of creating financial plans that are aligned with each individual client’s goals and aspirations.
Working across a broad client base that includes private individuals, families, business owners and high-net-worth clients, Abbie brings nearly a decade of experience to her role. She uses this to help create robust, forward-looking strategies that are personal, practical, and carefully structured for long-term success. No two clients’ needs are the same, and that’s exactly what drives Abbie’s passion for problem-solving.
A CAREER THAT EVOLVED FROM AMBITION AND CURIOSITY
“I started in financial services as a client administrator, progressed to senior administrator and then became a Financial Planning Associate. I always had a strong analytical mindset, and I was fascinated by the work they were doing, solving complex problems, carrying out in-depth research and shaping meaningful advice. I knew it was something I wanted to be part of.
Now, nearly nine years later, I still get real satisfaction from taking complex financial information and turning it into clear, actionable strategies. I love the combination of technical analysis and working as part of a team to help people make life-changing decisions with confidence.”
BUILDING TRUST THROUGH CLARITY AND COMMUNICATION
“Strong client relationships are built on trust and transparency. Many clients are placing their life savings or retirement plans in our hands, and they need to feel completely confident in the advice they receive. For me, that means being approachable and making the technical side of what we do easy to understand.
A standout moment for me was working with a client who had recently won the lottery and had no prior experience with financial services or investing. He was nervous and admitted he felt out of his depth. I took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently, and when he received my report, he said it was simple to follow and helped him feel at ease. That kind of feedback really matters. It reinforces the importance of listening, communicating well, and taking time to meet people where they are.”
PART OF A TEAM THAT VALUES PEOPLE AND POSSIBILITY
“I joined AAB Wealth at an incredibly exciting time of growth. There’s a real energy here around development, both in terms of the business and the people who are part of it. I’m excited to bring my technical skills to the table, support the development of newer team members, and continue growing personally within a team that genuinely values its people.
What’s especially rewarding is the level of support and shared purpose. Everyone is working toward the same goal: helping clients make confident, informed decisions and enjoy the life they want.”
STAYING AHEAD IN A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING INDUSTRY
“One of the biggest challenges in financial planning is the constant evolution of legislation. Staying on top of changes, maintaining technical knowledge and adapting quickly is essential. I make it a priority to keep learning so we can always apply the most accurate and up-to-date advice.
Another common misconception I’d love to clear up is about the role of paraplanners. It’s often seen as a stepping stone to becoming a Financial Planner, or as a junior support role, but in reality, paraplanning is a highly skilled, crucial part of the advice process. We provide the technical engine behind the plan and ensure everything is grounded in solid, well-researched analysis.”
ORGANISED, EFFICIENT, AND FOCUSED ON IMPACT
“I’m highly organised, efficient, and passionate about making communication easy for colleagues and clients. Clear communication is everything in our world. Clients need to feel confident in what we’re recommending and why.
Looking ahead, I’m particularly intrigued by how AI could streamline some of the more routine tasks we do. That would free us up to focus even more on the complex, high-value work that makes a real difference for clients and that’s where the real impact lies.”
