What a year! Although it’s been a challenging year, we’ve been keeping busy at AAB Wealth.

2021 marked our 10-year anniversary. In the spirit of celebration and to end the year, we’ve looked back at some of the amazing achievements the team have accomplished including awards, and exam success, in addition to the new team members who’ve joined us this year.

Awards & Accreditations

Financial Vulnerability Taskforce

As we come to the end of a turbulent year many of us may be facing new situations and contemplating new beginnings. Sometimes this can be a leap into the dark which can be destabilising and leave us feeling vulnerable. We are pleased to have joined the Financial Vulnerability Taskforce as our commitment to understanding vulnerability, and putting our client’s interests first, ahead of their wealth.

The AAB CommonHealth Games

In June, The AAB CommonHealth Games was launched across the AAB Group, an event series designed to get everyone connecting, contributing and competing. 22 teams at AAB took part until September, gaining points for activities such as walking, swimming, baking, gardening, cycling and crafts and bagging bonus points for distance milestones. Whether its running, baking, playing football or gardening, the AAB Wealth team certainly gave it a good go!

Gold Standard Award for Independent Financial Advice

In November, we announced that we had been awarded the prestigious Gold Standard Award for Independent Financial Advice. This is the first year we have entered these awards, and to be one of just five firms in the UK to achieve the Gold Standard in our category is a fantastic achievement for our team.

Now in their 19th year, the awards recognise company excellence in the financial advice and discretionary fund management sectors. Achieving the Gold Standard means the firm has all the characteristics of a successful, high-quality, sustainable, and responsible business.

Exam Success

Our team continue to shine and excel in their professional qualifications. Professional development across our team is extremely important to us here at AAB Wealth, allowing us to provide the best possible service and advice to our clients. We are very proud of the ongoing commitment shown by our team and would like to say a huge congratulations again to you all!

New Recruits

This year, we welcomed four new members, Ross White, Shannon Cowie, Rachel Hamilton and Fintan McKenna to the firm as part of the Client Service Support (CSS) team. Our CSS team are the backbone of our business, who not only ensure all processes and documents for client work are completed to a high standard but playing a key role in delivering the best possible service to clients.

We also welcomed Financial Planning Associate Steven McBurnie, who joined us from home during the pandemic. It has been great to see everyone become part of the team so quickly, despite being unable to enter the office until later on in the year.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
